Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center, Sebring, Florida, has two lakes on its east-southeast side. A road was built on fill material that cut the lake into two pieces. The larger lake, , is roughly shaped like a foot. To its northeast is the hospital building, which is considerably higher and overlooks the lake. Along its north side and going around from the north to its south are two hospital roads. At its southeast is the hospital helicopter pad. The smaller lake is across the road and directly east of the larger lake. It is , of which the entire eastern side is swamp. The swamp occupies . It is kidney shaped. To its south is Sun N' Lakes Boulevard, to its east is the access road travelling parallel to US 27 and to its north is Quality Inn.〔Wikimapia website, http://www.wikimapia.org ; Fishing Works website, http://www.fishingworks.com/lakes/florida/highlands/avon-park/hog-lake/ .〕 A fountain is in the center on the northern third of the larger lake. A number of large turtles were introduced to this lake and it attracts ducks and other birds. It once had alligators, but the hospital had them removed when a few visitors attempted to make contact with them. Neither lake allows swimming or boating.
